Being offered is a scarce Greater Yellowlegs decoy by Jamie Reason, Long Island NY. It is in all original condition, beautifully carved in the style of Thomas Gelston. It has distressed finish to appear older, with carved wing tips, and JR carved in underside. It measures about 13" long. (Stand is included)
Jamie Reason (1947-    ) is a respected folk art expert, decoy carver, and historian. He began carving as a youngster, living in Mastic Bay, who needed a gunning rig. He uses traditional carving tools and carves in the Long Island solid-bodied style. He fashions his decoys with a knife, a drawknife or a spoke shave.
